[.ca] Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging: Confessions of ... (ISBN 0060288140)

From Amazon.com:
She has a precocious 3-year-old sister who tends to leave wet nappies at the foot of her bed, an insane cat who is prone to leg-shredding "Call of the Wild" episodes, and embarrassing parents who make her want to escape to Stonehenge and dance with the Druids. No wonder 14-year-old Georgia Nicolson laments, "Honestly, what is the point?" A Bridget Jones for the younger set, Georgia records the momentous events of her life--and they are all momentous--in her diary, which serves as a truly hilarious account of what it means to be a modern girl on the cusp of womanhood. No matter that her particular story takes place in England, the account of her experiences rings true across the ocean (and besides, "Georgia's Glossary" swiftly eradicates any language barriers). The author, Louise Rennison, is a British comedy writer and it shows. Whether Georgia is dealing with wearing a bra ("OK, it's a bit on the loose side and does ride up round my neck if I run for the bus"), pondering kissing and how to know which way to turn your head ("You don't want to be bobbing around like pigeons for hours"), or managing the results of an overzealous eyebrow-plucking episode ("Obviously, now I have to stay in forever"), she always cracks us up. Georgia struggles with the myriad issues facing teen girls--boys, of course being at the forefront--but she does it with such humor and honesty it almost seems like a good time. This refreshingly funny book is ripe for a sequel, which readers will await in droves. (Ages 11 and older). --Brangien Davis

fabbity fab fab:
This book is hilarious. I absolutely loved it. So funny. Its the first diary of Georgia Nicolson, who is too funny for words, and her adventures with the sex god (robbie), her best friend Jas and totally heinous teachers. Surely the best book of the series. If you're looking for a good laugh this book is definitely for you.

Something Fresh:
This book may not have a riveting plot as many people have stated but its a fun light book you will definetly want to keep for your personal collection. Georgia is herself a prat in my eyes, she is superficial and is in no way a good role model. So?! This is a hilarious book, that will keep you laughing, its also very down to earth, and smart. The author has done a great job, and after you read this you will want to get your ahnds on the rest of the series.

Hilarious!:
This book is fantastic! Warning: NEVER READ THIS BOOK IN A PUBLIC PLACE. Will cause people to look at you funny when you belt out a good loud laugh. It's that funny.

BLESSEDLY HILIARIOUS!:
This was a riot to read! There were times when I had to stop reading the book on the train or on the bus for the want to burst out laughing like a hyena! And being a Brit myself, I can relate to the Brit terms. If you want a laugh, you gotta read it!

Hilarious:
well, reading this book was so refreshing- such a treat! This book was amazing and hilariouse, it was really great because georgia would, in most cases, look on the bright side, or the funny side, of her many dilemas. Boys, family, sister, cats, freinds, are some problems georgia keeps dealing with. The end is a cliffhanger though! Its great though because the other books are already out now, so once you finish this one you can begin the next one! A great read- i highly recomend this one! You will be laughing your pants off!
