Solutions don't go far enough:
Although Dave Goetz offers suggestions and gives us advice on how we can cope better with the stresses we are under because of our modern suburban lifestyle in this book, in my opinion, they don't go far enough. In my opinion, Mr. Goetz and other conservative Christians should be suggesting ways to redesign the communities in which we we live, in ways that will improve the environment and everybody's quality of life. I find it ironic that many left-wing secular environmentalists are pushing for ways to redesign our communities in ways that will improve everybody's quality of life far harder than conservative Christians, when the latter generally care more about the way God wants our world to be than about the way each individual wants it to be! Although I am a socially conservative Christian myself, I care about communities and lifestyles that are good for the environment and our health, and give us a high quality of life. It disappoints me that most conservative Christians these days live in sprawling suburbs and are very dependent on their private autombilies to get from Point A to Point B, because this kind of lifestyle is not good for the environment or for anybody's health! I sometimes wonder why most conservative Christians in North America don't emulate the Amish or the Old Order Mennonites, because they still live a very simple lifestyle, which is very good for the environment! However, I am not suggesting that we go so far as to live without electricity. I am just suggesting that we should live a more simple lifestyle than the one that most of us are living these days (including even most conservative Christians). It also disappoints me that even the average conservative Christian in North America is getting married later in life and having fewer children than in past generations, because I am sure that it is God's will for us to multiply as much as we can, since the more babies we bring into the world, the more potential souls God will have to win. In fact, I don't see why it would even be in Satan's best interests for us to not bring very many babies into the world, because the fewer babies we bring into the world, the fewer potential souls there will be for him to win as well.
