A great choice: A great choice for those wanting to go into the field. It goes hand in hand with the book Dog In Blue
A Must-Have for law enforcment wanna-be's (soon-be's)!!: I took a Michigan State Police Exam, and interviewed with the US Customs Service for an internship after reading this book. As far as the US Customs interview went, this book was invaluable. For the MSP exam it was also extremely helpful because the entire exam was scenario based. It is an excellent tool for people who are trying to obtain a law enforcement mindset. Most of the scenario's are only common sense police scenario's, but the book let's you determine what you'd do in a situation, and compare it with what is expected in the back of the book. It also tells you why you should've answered the question differently. I'm a Junior year Criminal Justice major, and this book has helped me a lot. Most law enforcement agencies now only give you scenario type questions that everyone thinks there really is no wrong or right answer to. You could answer all of the questions wrong, and leave the interview feeling like you did well. This book will help to prevent that. It will help you to develop a pattern of doing what is best in high stress scneario's. In an interview, you will be able to not only answer questions, but stick to the answers and explain them because you know there's not a better one.
