Lionel and His Friends: Among the four stories, the first story, the Imposter, shows how delicate the children's worlds are. Lionel is confused when Max is very nice to others, so he wonders this Max is real Max that he has known. After a question and answer period, they reach a conclusion. "Maybe it's a disease. The kind you only catch at other people's houses." I know they always catch this disease. I like the writer's sense of humor in this part. The languages are short and clear, and the soft watercolor pictures are warm and bright. It's a good choice for beginning readers.
