If you are a fan of his looks, you will be ecstatic over the range of matinee-idol poses Freeman has created. Beckham in the bath, Beckham in bed, Beckham as a father. David reveals as much of himself in the text as he does in the photos and offers some pretty candid thoughts about the more memorable moments of his life so far, such as the World Cup: "I know I've not always been an angel. There are things I have done that I have regretted but there were times after the world cup when I was treated like a criminal." On Glenn Hoddle: "I never read Hoddle's book, just the bits and bobs that were serialised, including that rubbish about me not being focused. I am not sure if anything was said to the manager's face, but I think he knew our feelings. We lost respect for him over that." It's obvious David is very much in love and adores his family. But what is even clearer is that he is also very uncomfortable with a lot of the publicity he receives, despite the fact that he admits he loves being centre stage on the pitch. As a personal insight into a footballing hero and cultural icon, it works very well and is very readable, but it scores more as a loving tribute to Beckham's heartthrob status and on that level you won't be disappointed. --Jonathan Weir

Nice book! Worth buying!:
I bought this book in harcover edition via the amazon.uk.co for the reason that it's cheaper to buy from the UK instead of the US. I'm not an American, and either am I a football fan but after reading this book, I think I'm becoming addicted to football games. If you ever know something about Beckham you might know him as the husband of a Spice Girl/Victoria, but there are something more than that. You see this book, and youknow that there's something special towards Beckham. His determination for love and for football is amazing. The book "My world" tells you all because it's only written by Beckham himself. It shows us a intimate look inside Beckham's life. Though it's not that NEW you know, but it's still so great. With the pictures and the words inside this book, you'll know who Beckham is, or who Beckham TRULY is.

i was so happy when i purchased this book. Infact, i would have paid almost anything for it...could not put it down for 1 second. the text was extremly insightful and what was even better was the added photos...Defintely would reccomend this biography to everyone!!!!!!

I have just recently become a daivd beckham fan so i purchased this book and to my surprise it was one of the best biographies i have ever read. David talks about not only his love for his family but his feelings about man. united and england soccer. This is a must buy for all soccer fans!

My mother brought me this book in England just recently. I've wanted to have the book since it was first released, but its rather expensive if you buy it in Indonesia. I have been an England fan, a Man United fan, and a Beckham since I was in secondary school 8 years ago. I knew Beckham since he was in the youth club. I lived in England at that time. I think the book is excellent. The photos are too. I already knew a lot a bout Beckham, but since I read the book, I found out new things that made me respect him even more. He really loves his family and ofcourse football. Hes a real professional! For those of you who are Beckham fans, reading this book is a must!
