Wealth and Trust:
"He was their top choice. In fact for this year there were no other prospects. The list was very short. It was Mcdeere or no one" (pg 2). The Firm by John Grisham is a wonderful book about a lawyer fresh out of Harvard expecting money and extravagances. This book plays on every whim of a realist's imagination. Mitch McDeere, the main character, becomes entangled in a fantasy life as a lawyer in a very wealthy firm called Bendini, Lambert, and Lock. Money, cars, vacations, work, Mitch is given the life of luxury. The only setback is a mysterious death of some of the company's associates. But almost as quickly as he was swept into his dream the FBI pulls him out, when he finds that his wonderfully rich law firm is corrupt and sketchy. In further examination of his surroundings, Mitch finds his life threatened by mobsters associated with the firm. This great book holds your attention and keeps your imagination reeling.

The Firm:
This book was great. I was surprised by how easy it was to get into and how it kept me interested the whole way through. It was one of the few books that I have read that I found impossible to put down. All of the action in the book kept me reading and made me feel like I got to know all of the characters - now I want to know what will happen for Mitch and Abby.

Good stuff:
The novel that made Grisham famous (along with the movie) is one of my all-time favorites. Next to THE CORRECTIONS BY j. Franzen and the novel NEVER LET ME GO, this ranks on the top of the list. Written before Grisham's foray into books such as PAINTED HOUSE and INNOCENT MAN, THE FIRM is a classic, filled with excellent pacing and an ability to keep you on the edge of your seat. Also highly recommended: ROSES ARE RED by Patterson.

Beware of Offers You Cannot Refuse:
The Firm launched John Grisham to superstar status as the world's favorite debunker of the legal profession. The Firm perfectly casts the way that high-potential law students are wined, dined, and bribed into taking sweat shop jobs that ruin their lives. But like all good novels, that's just the beginning of the story. How does a small-to-medium-sized Memphis firm outbid the Wall Street boys? Therein lies a good tale. The Firm is appealing because it takes you inside the world of exclusive, top-drawer law firms and reveals the temptations that lie there awaiting the unsuspecting young lawyer. John Grisham makes much of the detail highly accurate while also taking you on a fantasy trip that no one has taken before. The scope of his imagination about "what if" a law firm yielded to temptation is breathtaking. I could have daydreamed for 400 years and never come up with a tale like this one. Unlike most thrillers, this one had me turning pages eagerly right up to the last page. It was truly an exciting experience for this Harvard Law School graduate.

A Book that will keep you saying WOW!:
I tried reading other kinds of books, like Stephen King books but they just didnt do it for me. The action started way to late. However, in The Firm the action started right in the begininning of the book. After the first 40 pages I could already notice something wasnt quite right about the Firm. This made me want to find out even more. Some of the situations that Mitch Mc Deere got himself out of were pure genius on Grisham's behalf. It was also the plot as a whole was just superb. I urge everyone to read it. The thrill of this book will keep you yurning pages until you finish. It had a fully satisfying ending. I just couldnt stop think WOW how did he get himself out of that. It is my new favorite book and I cant wait to read some more of his book. Also , if you like the Firm you will also enjoy the client.
