[.ca] Dr. Patrick Walsh's Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer (ISBN 0446696897)

There's A Reason Why This Is The Best Selling Book On Prostate Cancer!:
I don't know why this book isn't doing better in Canada, because this 2007 edition is by far the best selling book on prostate cancer over at Amazon.com. Anyway, I just posted this short review here, to direct people to all the glowing five star reviews over there. I purchased this book for a relative and gained a lot of insight into prostate cancer. One thing men considering surgery for prostate cancer might want to discuss with their surgeon, is storing up some of their own blood for a transfusion. Some surgeons may tell you that you shouldn't need a transfusion, but Dr. Walsh has a different perspective on this. In his view, "spilling" some blood during the procedure is likely to help minimize the damage to the delicate nerves and veins that surround the prostate. It is the health of these tissues that largely determine the quality of a man's life after his prostate has been removed. Dr. Walsh also touches on the nutrition angle for developing prostate cancer, and warns against the dangers of saturated animal fats, particularly the saturated fats from red meat and dairy. As he points out, prostate cancer is a disease found predominately in the west, and strongly correlated to the standard American diet.(SAD)
