Outstanding Reference!: I gave a copy to a vet tech friend, and Karen read this book cover-to-cover, exclaimed about readability, and let me know they now use her copy as a reference at West Ashley Veterinary Clinic in Charleston, S.C. She's also using it as a training resource for new vet techs. The day she brought it in there was an emergency intestinal surgery a new hire knew nothing about. She told her to look it up in your book and bingo! the tome got pressed into duty and now sits at the receptionist's elbow. I hope many people notice it there and demand their own copy. Mary Glickman
Incredible!: Pet Care in the New Century is the most incredible book I own on pet care. I really love it. When Frisky got sick I was able to understand the issue with the bladder stones and to have really good discussions with my vet. He knows I do my research and your book made it much easier to talk with him about what was happening to Frisky. Sincerely, Nancy and Frisky
Helping Pets Live Longer, Healthier Lives: "...Amy Shojai makes increasingly complicated pet care more readily understood in Pet Care in the New Century. In addition to resource directories and heartwarming real-life examples, sections on ethics and recent technological advancements, Shojai offers an alphabetical reference guide of health and behavior conditions. Shojai's Pet Care in the New Century better prepares pet owners to care for their pets and enables cats and dogs to live longer, happier lives." --from "Industry News," January 2002 Petfood Industry Magazine
Great reference, newest information: This book is a must for any pet owner. I have an extensive collection of pet health books, and most of them do not contain the new, state-of-the-art medical and technological options that this one does. In addition to the newest information available, the book is inspiring for any pet owner facing illness, as various treatment options are easily explained in detail. It is also a terrific book to review before a veterinary visit so appropriate issues and questions can be addressed.
Eloquent, Heartwarming, Cutting-Edge Information: "Hearing aids for pets? Organ transplants? Pet care is becoming increasingly advanced as owners now dedicate more time and money to their cherished animals. This informational book will help better prepare pet owners everywhere for this new medical technology. It is an easy-to-use reference guide that will help readers solve pets' health and behavior problems, with the most up-to-date veterinary information available. The author also eloquently shares with readers the heartwarming stories of miraculous recoveries made by sick or endangered pets-stories that demonstrate to readers the deep bond that exists between owners and their pets." --from "What's New in CAT Books," by Lisa Kohutich, March 2002 Cat Fanciers' Almanac
