Good motivational tool for the weight watcher: This is a collection of short success stories written by Weight Watchers members. Each 2 to 3 page story describes the person's weight struggles, the event that made them start going to WW or using WW Online, and their happier lives after weight-loss. I liked that the stories are very short and to the point, written informally as if they were talking at a WW meeting. Stories are grouped into chapters, such as men's stories, brides and new mothers, etc. Each story is followed by a one-sentence lesson gleaned from that person's experience and there is a journaling prompt at the end of each chapter. I liked that the stories were about being healthier as well as looking better; many of the writers overcame serious health problems by losing the excess weight. And I liked that each story realistically described the weight-loss process as a slow one, often taking a year or more. Aside from the introduction, there is no editorializing, so the stories became rather monotonous; basically it's "I was fat, I joined WW, I lost the weight." I wish there were Before and After photos for each story; that would help the stories stand out. All in all, this seemed like something that would be handed out and discussed at WW meetings as a good way to motivate members. I found it interesting but rather repititious.
