An Easy Bake Mom:
When I purchased this book I was looking for Easy Bake Recipes made from scratch, as the prepackaged Easy Bake Mixes were expensive, and not very tasty. Instead what I got was a book expanding on the use of Easy Bake Mixes. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BAKE IN YOU'RE EASY BAKE OVEN FROM SCRATCH, THIS IS NOT THE BOOK YOUR LOOKING FOR.

Recipes and Art Projects:
I have this book and have found that although most of the cake recipes use the Easy-Bake mix, there are MANY recipes provided that don't. These include: Petite Pizzas, Cheese sticks, Nachos, Bagel snacks, Rice cakes (sweet), Crispy Rice Truffles, Smores, Chocolate/Graham Layer Bars, Popcorn Balls, Dog treats, Sugared Nuts, Shortbread Hearts, Gold Coin Cookies, Raisin Scones, Ham & Cheese Wrap, Quesadillas, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Chocolate Covered Creepies (for Halloween), and then some additional recipes for drinks and other items that kids can easily make that do not require use of the oven. The cookbook is spiral bound so it can lie flat. It contains many art projects in addition to recipes to accesorize your table. At the back of the book is an appendix that lists the recipes that require the Easy-bake cake or cookie mixes or are from scratch. There are also some helpful information pages with diagrams of how to properly set a table, a napkin fold, equivalency charts, etc... Really it is a well done book. I agree with the previous reviewer in that it would be nice if there were alternative options for the Cakes and Cookies that require the Easy-Bake mix. However, I would still say there are quite a few from scratch recipes and many more than one might expect than from an Easy-Bake "Official" cookbook.

This book would be good for anyone with a easy bake oven.It has recipes for snacks, sweets, activities, & parties.It also has helpful hints. It has also has a page that tells you which mix to use or if it is made from scratch.You will not be dispionted in buying this book!
