[.ca] Richard Hittleman's Yoga: 28 Day Exercise Plan (ISBN 0553277480)

personanonxista@optonline.net:
In 1970, I purchased Hittleman's 28 Day Yoga book at a flea market. I was 33 years old and already beginning to feel the effects of arthritis. It was all I could do to exit a car or bend down to lift the toilet seat. I was a rusty gate. Today at 67, thanks to following this simple 3 routine sets of asanas, I am able to curl 65lbs 10x's with one arm, run 3.61 miles daily, bike 34 miles both weekend days, do 100 pushups, and many other feats of strength that many men less than 1/2 my age are unable to do. I have added the Sun Salutation to my daily routine, as demonstrated by Rodney Yee, and Marie Winsors Pilate Teasers. Other than that, the three routines are perfect for what I have accomplished in my personal life. I have bought dozens of copies and given them to others. My 6 sons ages 40, 39, 30, 24, 20, and 17, also have followed this yoga regimen when they began to play sports. All became outstanding athletes in boxing, football, baseball, soccer, etc. and as well as outstanding scholars and US Army Officer Rangers. Does our family think this yoga system is worthwhile? We think it is a Godsend.

Perfection in 28 days.:
If you can breath and move in 28 days this book guides you into a different selfawareness and calm. I have given away countless numbers of this book with great personal joy. Enjoy! butch0063@bellsouth.net

Great Yoga Book, Even for Beginners!:
I got referred to this book through a friend and as soon as I received it in the mail I thought it was kind of funny because it didn't look like your average modern yoga book for the New Millenium. The pictures and diagrams are all really old (from the 1970's - before I was even born), so I thought it was really corny and my initial reaction was "how good could this book really be with all the NEW modern stuff that's out there?". My question was answered in less than a week. I have never taken a yoga class in my life, I'm not a fitness nut and I'm not into al the trendy exercise programs. I'm just your average person, however I swear that this book will make your body bend and flex like you've never seen it do before. I went from being semi-stiff and tense, to becoming flexible and agile, relaxed and calm. I've tried other stretching books before but nothing delivered such quick and easy results as this book. So important lesson learned. NEVER judge a book by its cover!! The pictures may be cheezy but the actual content of the book is amazing! I highly recommend this book.

Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant!:
I was given this book for Christmas and I love it,love it, love it! I am visiting amazon to see what other gems are available from the same author. I have just completed day 16, and I've lost 4.5 lbs, I feel better, my skin is clearer then since puberty, and I look forward to my daily practice. It is not an easy ride, some of the routines are challenging, but every single one is rewarding. I feel so good after I complete the routine, I cannot wait until the next day! This has won a place on my bookshelf, and in my heart, forever. : )

40 Years With Richard Hittleman:
I began doing Yoga with Richard Hittleman when he had a TV show in the early 60's. I bought his little pamphlet to use also. It was a simple little book with drawings. In 1969 I bought his hardbound edition---the 28-day plan, and used it when he went off the air. I've been using it ever since. I may have missed a few sessions now and then, but for the most part I stuck with it over the years, and I'm happy to say that his promise of "flexible for life" has paid off. For a woman of 80, I'm very flexible and have good balance. I practice three times a week without fail, and will keep it up forever. I loved that man, for his gentle philosophy as well as his advice on health. Lately I wanted to let him know how well he's kept me over the years, which is why I decided to look him up on the internet today, only to learn that he's been gone since 1991. I've been missing him, and now I know why. Doris Hirigoyen
