funny for kids: I read this book to my 7 year old while at the library. He enjoyed the book as well as the silly illistrations. This book is good for children ranging for 4-9.
The Dumb Bunnies: This book is horrible-- what is sue telling little children that it is alright to say "Dumb" "Duh".Like when the bunny wanted to drive off the cliff the father said no that it was dangerous then in fact let the baby bunny drive off the cliff and the father bunny praised the baby. In fact I wanted to have this book Banned from the elementary library. Yes I have a sense of humor but this book is so far off base for a young age group that it must be in another planet What kind of example is sue setting for our children??? The baby bunny loved the girl so much that he flushed her down the toilet.THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE FUNNY?? WHERE IS THE HUMOR IN THAT?
MY KIDS LOVE THIS BOOK: This book is silly and funny. My kids are 3 and 6 and they just love it and laugh everytime we read it.
Luv that Dav Pilkey guy!: Dav Pilkey is the author/illustrator of the hi-larious Captain Underpants series. His books are very funny and will encourage reluctant readers to pick up a book. The Dumb Bunnies are a very silly family who happily do things backwards, upsidedown and sideways, without ever losing their happy dispositions, in fact, they never even notice that they march to the beat of a different drummer! With humor that everyone can understand and great illustrations, kids will really enjoy the Dumb Bunnies!
Humor, parody, and lesson-teaching...: I feel as though I must address the scathing criticism of other posters. This book is a silly parody of other stories. It does not teach kids to say, "Duh." That is a sound that the father makes when he is actually being dumb. It does not encourage the child to do something after his parents have told him it was dangerous. Rather, it demonstrates the consequences of doing so and makes it appear "dumb" to do it. This book is about producing giggles from the unexpected and silly. My children absolutely love the gentle irreverence of it. It is not harsh or rude; rather it is charming and fun. I highly recommend it for any children, especially those who may not have developed a love of reading just yet.
