From Amazon.com: An easy-to-use rhyming dictionary for kids. Large typeface, and a good selection of very playful words. And the sturdy library binding makes it ideal for classroom or backseat rhyming games during long trips.
A more useful reference book than you'd imagine...: Wow! I was really surprised with the quality of this book - It is a very well organized book of rhyming words, which is a handy thing to have around! The rhyming words are listed alphabetically by number of syllables. I bought 3 of these for friends of mine who are going into University journalism courses, and they were thrilled. These things aren't just for "ages eight and up" as it states on the back; everyone can have fun with a rhyming dictionary! It's also really fun to just read the rhyming words out loud quickly in front of a group of people. It's an excellent "coffee-table book" in that sense! More fun than a barrel of monkeys!
YO........Yo................check it: Thanks to this book, I finally got a record deal. I'm sign to "Boy don't walk through thte scrren door records." I was really lacking lyrical skills at first. I would rhyme, but wouldn't make sense. I would make sense, but wouldn't rhyme. Than I found myself by reading this book. I found out you can make anything rhyme by adding "izzle" at the end. I even wrote a poem. Title: A Tree that grew from the sidewalk tree that grewizzle/ than people knewizzle/ the key to the lockizzle/ people could not walk in the sidewalkizzle/ my spirit's within my treasured heartizzle/ than the man looks out the windowizzle/ searching for the moonizzle/ than the man saidizzle/ . . . . . . . . . (sudden pause) . . . . . . . "oh baby" "oh baby" .....Hot Shizzle!!!!!!!
Good for poems: When you need to make up a poem, a story, a song, a rap, a slogan, or a greeting card, this book comes in handy!
A great book for poets of all ages: I bought this book to use when I teach poetry to children, and ended up using it for my own poems, too. This book is useful and lots of fun.
