Boomer's Coming of Age: "...I'm a boomer named Boomer, sort of a boomer everyman." So says Walter Stapleton, a man about to turn fifty who is seeing his pathways shrink before him. He makes up his mind to quit his solid successful job of many years and leave friends and family behind to pursue a dream. We follow Boomer on his journey, on what becomes a kind of sea change, and along the way we share in his emotions and insights. I really liked this book and would especially recommend it to boomers whether male or female. What makes the book particularly good is that not only do we get caught up in what Walter is experiencing but we can identify with his recounting of the past. In fact, the characters are all well drawn and by the end of the book we feel as though we are friends with Walter and his friends and family! Boomer at Midlife is a book about aging but a nostalgic journey for us as well as recognition of life's passages. Great book!
