Not for Spelling Only: I am a medical transcriptionist and not only need to be able to spell medical terms but also need to know how medical terms relate contextually to what I am typing. What I liked about Stedman's is the in-depth illustrations...for instance, nerves, skeleton, muscular structure. If I know the word is a kind of nerve but cannot quite understand the doctor, I can look at these illustrations, read over the names and then listen again with a better knowledge of what I am listening for. Also, Stedman's has a unique feature which I use all the time. Under "disease", there are listed many types of diseases. Under "test", there are listed the names of many standard medical tests that are given. This book is invaluable to my work!
