very easy to understand, great for beginners to flash: this book has a great balance between being conversational and showing examples, making it easy for a first time Flash user like myself to work through the program. key concepts are repeated frequently as you navigate through the chapters, so each new chapter helps refresh the previous ones. i definitely would recommend it to anyone trying to teach themselves flash.
Well-written and informative: An excellent book for beginners to learn about Flash. I like how the author starts off with "how to make a Flash movie in 30 seconds" and gets the reader involved right away. I particularly like the way he explained animation in later chapters. I learned a lot and highly recommend it to others. It is well-written and informative. He explains the concepts of Flash clearly and concisely. Excellent for both learning and reference.
Well Written: This is a wonderful textbook for learning Flash MX. Author Phillip Kerman provides the information in a well organized and clear fashion. He is also good at presenting the material to all level of users. There are enough details so that the novice can follow along with the lessons. However, there are enough interesting tips and insights to keep the experienced user's attention too. I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to learn Flash MX on their own.
Excellent Book, Highly reccommended: Before reading this book, I thought I knew how to use Macromedia Flash 2004. Boy was I wrong! Mr. Kerman did an excellent job composing this book. Not only is it easy to understand, but the sequence he takes you through makes everything come together and actually make sense. I would highly recommend this book even to someone who already knows how to use Flash (or thinks they do). Thank you Mr. Kerman!
Best First book for the would be FLash MX Artist: If you're a novice and trying to decide what would be the best Flash MX book to own, this would be the one. Right off the bat, he has you with your first simple animation. Then, you're hooked! Also makes a fine reference book too!
