Has to be a better choice: I'm only into the first three hundred pages of this book and am already considering tossing it into the waste bin. Firstly when receiving the book it didn't come with the "enclosed" cd with the samples listed in the book. When contacting Sams Publishing I was informed that Amazon was not an authorized distributor of the book and there was no hope of obtaining the cd. Also listed throughout the book are numerous references to sample code being available from the website, this is also not the case. By the fifth chapter the book starts to seriously fall apart. This chapter deals with forms and I'm referring specifically to the two examples dealing with pivot tables, neither of which function as laid out in the book. The next example in the same chapter deals with combo boxes in a form and gives directions on how to lock a displayed field in the form by changing various properties. The interesting thing is that the field in question isn't even a part of the form. The book in general offers very little in the way of information but chooses to present the materials offered in a step by step monkey see monkey do fashion without giving any of the logic behind the examples. If I hadn't had a fair bit of exposure to previous releases of Access I would be seriously looking for a better choice.
