This is a great book:
A Boy at War is a great book. Its about a kid who get stuck in the Pearl Harbor attack with two of his friends. Early in the attack both friends get wounded. Soldiers mistake him for a soldier and give him a gun. He fights. He gets a ride home and gaurds his family. He finds out that his dad is mising in action. This is a great book.

A pretty gripping adventure for younger readers:
Adam Pelko is a typical Navy "junior," moving from place to place following his father's ship. He arrives in Hawaii in late 1941, less than a month before the Pearl Harbor attack, and has barely settled in and made friends before the Japanese attack erupts on December 7. Author Harry Mazer has done a good job, not just with the general action of the story, but also in creating a realistic portrayal of a Navy home, with a father intent on maintaining a "ship-shape" family and running his home like an extension of his ship. This creates more than a little tension in Adam's life, and Mazer describes this well too. Some of the action sequences surrounding the attack seemed a little contrived to me -- could all of that really have happened to one kid? -- but they definitely strike me as a potentially exciting read for this book's target audience. The ambiguity with which the book ends surprised me, but it would certainly make a good jumping-off point for discussions with parents or teachers.

A Boy in the War:
The book"A Boy At War" was about this kid named Adam. Adam is a boy in the jounior Navy. He travels from one place to the next. Then he travels to Honalolo, Hawaii. His teacher Mr. Handler asked Adam a few questions. For example "Where are you from?" The teacher asked him that question because he might have wanted to know some stuff about him to make him feel comfortable in the school. I liked this book because I like reading about Would War Two. The books are very interesting when you read them instead of wacthing it on TV. One story element would be when Adam goes into the real military to save lives in Would War Two.

A Boy at War:
A Boy at War is a verey good book for kid's that like World War 2 novle's. Because it's about this kid Adam who lives in the base Fort Not because his dad is in the miliatary. Well Adam has to move a lot because his dad has to sation every for example his dad had to sation in Hawi. On one rainy morning Adam woke up early as possible as he could tosee his dad.
