I have owned this book for several years. Every Spring I get this book out and start my planning... I bought a different house that really need to have a face lift in the landscaping department.. I can get all the ideas I need from this book. This book has great photos. My daughter has the love for gardening that I do. I am buying this book for her birhtday... She loves this book as well..

Great Book for Beginners:
This is a great book for beginners. If you want to start a garden and are looking for a single good source of reference, then this is that book. I got tired of refering to 100's of books and not feeling satisfied about any of them. This book is a real source of joy and one also knows what to expect when starting a garden. Worth every cent of money that it costs. Must buy.

Nice addition to gardener's library! Nice pictures, nice layout.

A basic yet comprehensive gardening book:
This book covers a lot of ground (no pun intended!) in its pages--everything from lawns and landscaping to container gardening and houseplants. Numerous photographs and diagrams illustrate the book, and it has a nice section where common perennials and annuals are pictured. If you want a good basic reference on all kinds of gardening, this one is a super start. I come back to it even as I've added more specialized books to my gardening library.
