Nothing New:
I enjoy some HGTV shows but unfortunately this book seemed like it was released just to to capitalize on the room makeover bandwagon and not to help the reader. Too bad there was nothing new, practical or original in it. If you are looking for ideas to fix up your home, with useful information, buy another book instead .

More than I expected:
How can one book do justice to the HGTV decorating shows? It can't, but I feel that this book does a pretty amazing job of covering all the bases. I like the variety of rooms which seem to be newly created for this book. Either that or I have forgotten if I've seen them on my favorite HGTV shows. I really appreciated the how-to-do-it projects which give me more information than a lot of the HGTV shows actually show or more information than I can scribble down while I watch the shows. This book will keep me busy for a long time as there is a lot to look at (gorgeous photos), a lot of explanations of how to plan a room decorating project, and many how-to projects for every room in the house.

Just super:
My only complaint about the book is that I wanted a book like this one or two years ago. What took HGTV so long to get this book out? I like the room makeovers. The book includes advice on how to redo a room and not just the information about a particular makeover. So the decorating information goes beyond the rooms that are pictured. That is a plus. I like the how-to projects also.

Great pix, advice, and projects:
This book has great pix, a lot of decorating advice, and even do-it-yourself decorating projects. I got the book first for all the before and after photos or room makeovers. They're great. What I didn't expect was all the equally great decorating advice and tips plus the projects. Great book. I spend most evenings with HGTV and I'm really glad to have this book. There is so much in it that I know I'll use it over and over again.

Stylish, realistic, helpful:
This book shows rooms and ideas that are stylish, realistic, and helpful all at the same time. I'll be using this book as a room makeovers guide for years. Our first project inspired by the book is a kitchen facelift. After seeing a stunning kitchen redo in this book, I finally convinced my husband that we can paint our kitchen cabinets. Great book. Thank you.
