Great Value:
This book is a great value for collectors of the AOY pictures. There are just a little over 30 stitching patterns included. While lots of them are small there are enough mid to large pictures for stitchers who like to complete larger patterns. The stitching patterns are in colour and are easy to read. The squares are either just coloured or colour/symbol combination. If you have purchased these pattern in the British magazines, that would be a good reference. For those of you who have not seen them before, the stitches are all full cross stitch with backstitches which are stitched diagonally over them to make the outlines softer. If you don't like the look of a quarter of your cross stitch showing outside of your outlining back stitches, you would have to adjust the patterns with quarter stitches There are also lots of illustrations which have inspired the stitching patterns. The reason that I did not give full marks is that my personal preference is to have a symbol for each stitch (either w colour or without).
