There seem to be precious few books on this topic. Unfortunately, a lot of this book seems to be rehashed from various suppliers of safety equipment. Several companies (Pilz, Siemens, Omron, AB) produce excellent explanations of safety concepts. I would have liked to see more case studies: Here's a machine, here's the risk accessment, here's what we used. It might also have been interesting to look at some accident investigations. Does explain SIL levels, and discusses safety networks.
