Romance & Suspense: The book we have been waiting for is finally here. The final book in the O'Fallon's trilogy is about to come out, which is great but at the same time I hate to see the end of the series. Quaid O'Fallon, the street kid that Rory adopted and made his own had to come home to Fallons Landing when he found out there was trouble brewing around his father, new little sister Bonnie and the missing mother. Quaid had been in Alaska for years with the Coast Guard Search and Rescue, but family comes first and he has to help his family out so he quits his job and comes home. Cynthia Landon James has found her way home, with her eight year old son Lawrence, after a messy divorce where her ex-husband has taken everything - her fashion design business, bank accounts - leaving her with nothing to show for her successful years in New York. Things are not the way she remembers them and she cannot believe the way things have gone since she was away. Cynthia has sworn off all men, they are just bad karma for her. Quaid has never forgotten the one woman, who even in his younger years, had set his heart a pumping but who never gave him the time of day back then because of the difference in their social standing. Whenever these two get close to one another there is enough heat generated that it is like a spark to dry wood igniting a full fledge fire. There are problems to overcome, one being age difference, but Quaid is not going to let anything stand in his way this time around. Readers are in for a treat as we watch Quaid and Cynthia coming to terms with their respective demons. The secondary characters only heighten and add to the suspense as the race against time, to find Bonnie's mother before the ruthless people that are out to silence her do, is fast running out. The reader is taken on an emotional ride in this story, and Dianne has done a super job of tying up all the ends as well as delivering a terrific heart warming read. If you have never read a story from Dianne, you certainly cannot go wrong with this series, this book in particular delivers romance, suspense and the feeling of family bonds that tie. I recommend it and look forward to more books in the future from Dianne as she is just getting better and better at weaving stories for her readers.
