[.ca] Excel 2002 Formulas (ISBN 076454800X)

You Think You Know Excel...?:
Whether you're an amature or an experienced Excel user this book is full of tips and tricks for all levels of users. This book will open your eyes to the world of formula writing. You'll quickly learn how to create dynamic formulas that will impress everyone around you. Truly a magnificent book with lot's of real world examples.

Excel is so much easier to work with now:
I would recommend this book to anyone who spends a significant amount of their time working with numbers like I do! I was astonished at the amount of time I was wasting before I read this book, working through the tedious process of setting up long formulas. The book provides numerous tips on getting the work done faster. However, some of the advanced material in the book went right over my head! It was money well spent for me.

Chock full of very useful formula tips:
First, please read the title. This book is about Excel formulas. Please don't buy this book if you are looking for a general guide to Excel. For that purpose, you may want to purchase Mr. Walkenbach's Excel 'Bible'. That said, this book is incredibly useful. If you know a little bit about Excel, this book will take you very far. If you know a lot about Excel, you will be astounded by some of the things you can do using the proper formulas. This book is chock-full of great tips that will radically improve your spreadsheets. The section on financial formulas is particularly well-written with plenty of real-life examples. I have been using Excel for Windows since version 2 (circa 1988). This is the best Excel book I have ever purchased. I unreservedly recommend this book to other Excel users.

Buy a different book:
The book was OK. I have been using excel for about 6 years and I needed something that was a little more geared to saving me time at work. The some of the tips were good but not for files that need to be shared (what good is it if someone doesn't know how to modify them). This book is decent but not as useful as advertised. I am now looking for a more practical book with pivot tables, VBA, and more analysis oriented tips. I wouldn't recommend this title if you are familiar with Excel from work or academic experience.

A strong and comprehensive one-volume guide:
I work with Excel every day and find myself going to Mr. Walkebach's volume several times a week. While the book is methodocally organized (almost like an intermediate-to-advanced course in Excel), it can be very useful as a reference. The accompanying CD has many useful worksheets and can be very handy! Highly recomended for students and practitioners alike!
