[.ca] The Machiavelli Covenant (ISBN 0765313057)

Too Many Errors:
Basically, I enjoyed the book. However, I have never read a book with so many errors. By around page 150 I found at least 10 errors - words missing, wrong words used, etc. Definitely detracted from the story line. Mr. Folsom should be looking for a new publisher, editor, etc..

Great book!!!:
This is my first Allan Folsom novel and certainly not the last. I have really enjoyed reading "The Machiavelli Covenant". The story is intriguing and I couldn't wait to see how it ended. A great read!

A PAGE TURNER OF INTERNATIONAL INTRIGUE:
Nicholas Marten (formerly police officer John Barron) has returned to the United States at the behest of Caroline Parsons. He has done so at the greatest risk, knowing that his life is in danger. There's no protection for him as those who would kill him include a veteran LAPPED homicide detective. Nonetheless, he has flown to Washington from safety in Manchester where he has assumed a new identity and works as a landscape designer. Caroline telephoned saying something had been done to her and she was dying. She is the only woman Nicholas has ever loved. Only a short while ago her husband, Mike, a congressman from California, and their young son had been killed in the crash of a private plane. Now, Caroline is gone, too. All she told Nicholas was that following their funerals her personal physician, Dr. Lorraine Stephenson, had injected her with some sort of sedative and "I never felt the same again." In order to try to determine whether someone had killed Caroline and perhaps her husband and son, too, Nicholas attempts to contact Dr. Stephenson. She refuses to see him, but when he does catch up with her she has a gun in her hand. But, instead of shooting Nicholas "she shoved the barrel of the automatic into her mouth and pulled the trigger." Nicholas is soon mired in an unbelievable conspiracy involving those at the highest levels throughout the world. Following a trip to Europe which accomplished nothing in the way of mending relations with other countries, the President of the United States, John Henry Harris is ordered by his top advisors to have the leaders of France and Germany assassinated. Shocked and demoralized Harris has to choice but to run for his own life, and finds temporary respite in Europe where he eventually meets Nicholas who has crossed the globe in an effort to discover the truth about Caroline's death. It is the two of them plus journalist Demi Picard in mortal combat against some the most evil foes imaginable, enemies who want to dominate the world. Once again Folsom has crafted a page turner of international intrigue filled with chock-a-block action and heart stopping adventure. - Gail Cooke
