Very useful: It's a practical, useful and throrough book. I especially liked that it included current trends and related phenomena. Two minor complaints: (1) I can't easily find back something, since chapters & parts are devided in a counter-intuitive way (at least, for me), and (2) I disagree to see affiliate programs as being comparable to advertising, since IMHO, affiliate programs are about outlets, not advertising. Nevertheless: I'm really happy I bought it!
This is a definite MUST HAVE for any web site merchant!: I only wish I would have read this book before I put my affiliate program together. This book is so crammed full of valuable information, resources, tips, and help. I took 4 pages worth of notes. This book is excellently written both for the merchant who is thinking about putting an affiliate program together as well as for someone with an existing successful affiliate program. I doubt that there is a more complete and thorough book on successful affliate managment. I would give this book 10 stars if I could!
The Bible of Affiliate Marketing Books: If you're in the Affiliate business, or want to be, you must read this book. Can you become a priest without reading the Bible? Probably not. So why do you think you can be a successful Affiliate Marketer without reading THE book on the subject? Since I'm in the Affiliate Marketing Industry, I carry this book around with me everywhere I go with my laptop and business cards, just in case I need a reference or idea. Albiet a bit outdated by now, it is still the definitive piece of material on the matter.
Quite Disappointed: I was excited to see a recently published book on affiliate marketing, especially with the reputation of these authors, but once I started reading, I was quite disappointed. Though the book offers many useful websites as references and examples, for the most part I felt the book offered very little that was new in the affiliate marketing space and was actually a lot of common sense. I was also distracted by the poor editing job - numerous typos, several incorrect references, etc. If affiliate marketing is new to you, this book may be helpful. If you are somewhat of a vetern, there's very little worth your time.
Extremely useful for anyone launching an affiliate program: This book certainly helped me organize my thinking while putting together an affiliate program. Although it seems aimed at larger organizations (the authors envision an entire department running the affiliate program), smaller merchants will find a lot of solid advice. The only negative comment I have is that the book shows signs of hasty writing and editing. But if you need the information, you'll be able to forgive that fault.
