Covering all the basics from creation of particles to political issues: This is a great book for the senior student (at least BA). All the fundamentals are covered. I experienced getting a clear idea about the mechanics and substances involved in the creation of particles, their transportation (the thing I originally wanted to know :) ), air currents near the Earths surface, health and political issues and much more (I suggest that you look at the Index for a better resume). At the bottom line this is my experience; I first borrowed this book, read it and even though it's not my cheapest book (hence only 4 stars) I nonetheless chose to buy it. I'm expecting it to help me write anything from my thesis to small papers - who knows? Just remember the title .... European aspects .... This book contains a lot of references to European issues but still air is air and physics are physics and this book is quite unique. This should be a must have for the student looking for a career within "particle pollution".
