[.ca] Mystic Dreamers (ISBN 0812565401)

This book is a poor man's Hanta Yo:
A very poor knock off of Hanta Yo. Flat, one sided points of view(Whites are EVIL and the kind loving Indians are misunderstood) and a predictable storyline.

Pretty good read!:
Rosanne Bittner is one of my favorites so it wasn't hard to jump right in and start reading. This I consider a good start to a trilogy that follows with two more books. I thought it interesting that elements of Magical Realism, more often found in Latin American literature, were found in this novel. It actually surprised me..........though it was appropriate and added so much to the novel. Without it, the novel would really be just like any other American Indian story. Good Read.

Historical Romance:
I am a definate Rosanne Bittner fan. I am not a romance novel reader but I am a historical romance fan now thanks to Rosanne Bittner. Being Native American myself I enjoy Rosanne's books when both main characters are native american. Rosanne has done a wonderful job, she has done alot of research and with the detail she is truly able to bring her stories alive for you the reader. I highly recommend Mystic Dreamers and Song of the Wolf. I am searching for more, hopefully Rosanne will keep them coming.

Entranced:
I have been intereted in Native American culture as of late. I found this book on sale and decided to give it a try. It turns out it was a great purchase. I could not put the book down. The romantic side of the story and the realism kept me reading and in a few days I was through and wishing I had Mystic Warriors to keep reading the story. The writing style made me feel as though I was there. I am now an avid fan of Rosanne Bittner and have just ordered Mystic Dreamer and plan to read as many of her books as possible.

Brilliant!:
Stalking Wolf's vision told him to seek out the woman, Star Dancer, who was blessed by the White Buffalo. Their marriage did not begin in love. They were two strangers destined to lead the Lakota to a better and stronger future. Fall Leaf Woman and Gray Owl were the only ones who did not embrace the couple in welcome. Despite their greed for revenge and jealousy, they must learn that the Spirits will always do whatever is needed to ensure the survival of the People. *** The first of a new Mystic series! It has been years since I have found such an amazing author as this! It follows history closely. Shows how things were made and the pride of ceremonies. I did not realize how much I was learning about the Lakota because I was deep into the story of this incredible couple! This one has just been released in paperback. The next of this series will be released in May in hardback and titled "Mystic Visions". I will have the review up within a few more days. Don't miss Mystic Dreamers! ***
