Every person who has replied back about this wonderful Bible has been right on the mark! A friend had told me about this New Living Translation Study Bible (NLT), and so I thought I would give it a try as I was searching for a Bible that would be really simple but direct, and very user friendly... I had been using the New International Version (NIV) and found it very good as well, but it really doesn't even compare to this NLT. In this fast changing world we live in, it's nice we can pick up this easy reading Bible no matter where we are in our walk and be able to understand it, and better yet be enlightened on what's to come as He promises us.. I call the Bible True North, like being lost in the wilderness and needing a good compass to get you home.. Get this version Folks, you will be extra glad you did, I promise! Jesus, Don't Leave Earth without Him...

Terrific Bible for any Christian!:
The Life Application Study Bibles are all terrific. The only difference between them is, obviously, the translation. The New Living Translation is absolutely great for almost any purpose. All too often when you read the King James Version or even the New King James version, you have to read a verse several times to realy understand what it means. The New Living Translation is written just as if the Bible were written today, in English. The only field in which the New Living Translation should not be used is in very serious, historical study of the Bible, as events are often paraphrased for the sake of clarity, and ancient measurements such as talents and cubits are also translated into traditional English measurements. What makes the Life Application Study Bibles different from other Bibles are the footnotes. They apply just about every verse in the New Testament to our lives. There are thousands of footnotes. You won't find near as many of them in the Old Testament because there's not a whole lot there as far as how to live goes, If you're looking for a Bible that has footnotes that put verses into historical context, check out the extremely popular Zondervan Study Bible(only available in NIV) There are many other great bonus features to this Bible. Very nice presentation, marriage, births, and family tree pages to start it off. The introductions at the start of each book are also great, showing the author, when written, what the book encompasses, the main message it carries, and much more. It also has an outline of the book so you can find a specific scene quickly. There are also several full color maps in the back. Topping off the package are the extensive concordance and dictionary. In conclusion, a fantastic Bible.

This bible has really changed my life.. really. I could never get into a biblical text like this one. It is easy to read, and does a great job of explaining itself and the meaning of each passage for our lives. People complain about the Bible being difficult to understand, not applying to them, etc... I want them to READ THIS BOOK. It will strenghten your life .. better than any self-help book on the market.

Awesome Bible! Especially for a Newbie.:
I think this is the greatest ever! I am new to the bible and have never had a complete understanding of it until now. I grew up with the KJV and never got anything out of it...nor was I interested until I bought this Life Application Bible. Easy to understand. Puts historical events to a timeframe. Before, I had no idea when things happened...why they happened or the signifigance of it all...now I do. I have to recommend this to all newcomers to religion. I am buying one for everyone in my family for Christmas and the Large print for my Grandma who has read the KJV inside out a couple of times...I hope she will have a better understanding of what she has read in relation to today's living.

At last a Bible without guile:
To often I have picked up a quote "modern translation" and been disappointed, often the translation is with bias. I picked up the life application edition on a whim and have not left it get lonely since. It is a user friendly.
