ALMOST ideal:
As a person who constantly clips things out to save, I really needed a recipe organizer. This book is almost perfect. It's attractive, with it's vintage-style photographs and cooking-related quotes. It has pockets for your clippings, photo album-type pages for a recipe you're currently making (thereby protecting the recipe), and pages for you to write in recipes garnered from friends or family members. This book does provide a home for all of your recipes. One problem is that the pockets are simply paper folders, and I am already stuffing them full! Perhaps an expandable cloth pocket would be better, but that is wishful thinking. Also, the paper pockets are already worn, and my recipes are starting to seep out the bottom. Another problem is the collection of categories. Included are: Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Pasta, Main Courses, Side Dishes, Breads, Desserts, and Miscellaneous. However, I think that this is not all-inclusive. Other useful categories might be Sauces or Beverages. However, for the price and purpose, this is a good item.

a great way to get organized:
I got this after I happened upon it and realized that everytime i tried to de-clutter I ran into tons of cut out and computer printed recipes all over. It helps to have somewhere to put all of these things. I *would* like it to be bigger and have more space for recipes of differnt types. That said, its pretty adorable and functional. For the cost, it was a good purchase and can sit on the book shelf with the rest of my cook books. I can imagine this as a good gift for a bridal/engagement shower, a person moving into an apartment for the first time or a child going off to school. Filling it with some of your favorites would be an extra nice touch.

Heads up, I am the photographer and I can vouch for it, these are women, dressed as women.

Men Dressed as Women in the Kitchen:
Here's a heads up! This book contains pictures of men dressed as women which is not clearly explained in the information about the book. All of the pictures (on each food type divider and cover) are of men dressed as women.

Great addition to the kitchen...:
I had seen this book a number of times at different stores, and finally, I decided to purchase it. So far, so good! I really enjoy the style of this recipe organizer. I have always wanted a good place to keep my recipes safe and organized. Not only is it perfect for organizing your recips according to type, it's got some helpful hints and some great quotes! It is an adorable book, and would make an excellent gift, or wonderful addition to your own kitchen.
