[.ca] The Hauntings of Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown (ISBN 0895872102)

LIGHT, ENJOYABLE BLEND OF HISTORY & HAUNTINGS:
Jackie Behrend offers several different tours in the historic triangle. This entertaining volume, which includes stories from her haunted Williamsburg tour, blends local history with paranormal events. She ends each story with general directions to the haunted area, whether or not fees are charged, and phone numbers for more info. Each story is accompanied by a b/w photo of the site. The Colonial Williamsburg section includes hauntings in the old public hospital, governor's palace, George Wythe house, Peyton Randolph house and Raleigh Tavern to name a few. Phenomena has also been reported throughout Duke of Gloucester Street and Richmond Road. Yorktown stories involve the Dudley Diggs house, General Nelson's house, and several battlefields. Jamestown also claims a number of ghostly colonials and Native American specters. Park ranger Connie Smithy once spotted a buckskin clad boy as she opened the bookstore early one morning in 1991. She followed the fleeing intruder, fearing he might crash into the glass doors during his escape. Instead he ran right thru them and then disappeared! This is light reading and the chill factor is low, but nonetheless enjoyable.

HAUNTINGS a mystery:
This book was about a bunch of mystifing stories from the past. It really spooked me out. I highly recomend this book for thrill seekers of all ages.
