This book is wonderful.:
I had taken several cruises prior to reading this book, however I learn many valuable tips. This book is clear, concise and above all a "fun" read. I recommend it highly.

Short and sweet:
Useful, step-by-step guide to getting the most out of your cruise expierience. Not about cruise lines or itineraries, more of a FAQ describing what to bring, how to pack, what to expect, unusual situations, etc. Not a lot of material but what there is, is "cherce".

Never Taken a Cruise? READ THIS!:
As a veteran of several cruises, I thought I pretty much knew it all when it came to packing, etc. I was wrong! This book really gave me some helpful hints for subsequent cruises (I had never had an inside cabin before my last cruise and I never would have thought to bring a nightlight - a good tip!) I have loaned out this much-worn book to several friends going on their first cruises and they said it was a God-send. My copy is losing pages and has several notations and highlighted areas now. This is good guide for both verteran cruisers and newbies.

Gone But Not Lost!:
CRUISE CONTROL is now out of print! But that's OK, because Pam is back in an all new, updated and even funnier book HAPPY SAILS: THE CAREFREE CRUISER'S HANDBOOK. You'll want to have the latest updates for security, more fun facts and hilarious new stories!

Cruise Control:
So Mrs. Kane cruises alot. Her primary concerns are eating in the main dining room and dressing to impress, but that was only after packing to impress. So if you want to read a 16-font 110 page paperback and then spend two weeks packing and using on board politicing to arrange your main dining room eating, this is the book for you. If you need information on activities, spas, who to complain to (other than the dining room), notlosing money in the casino, entertainment, on board activities other than eating and shopping for affordable souveniors(not $200 jade necklace) read Frommers.
