Simple elegance: How can anyone not appreciate the way Ina Garten simplifies good food and good taste? She is a superstar of cooking and she has brought to life the essence of elegance. She has by far surpassed herself in this beautiful collection of recipes. It just makes you want to fly to Paris and have a wonderful lunch in a local bistro. The simplified recipes are a cinch for any amateur - or expert! - cooks. This book will make your guests think you've gone to France and back. Simple, elegant and oh so decadent!
Beautiful, Beautiful: We always think that French cuisine is very complicated but ina shows in this book that many french recipes are simple and absolutely delicious. I love it! It's a beautiful book and a great gift to give. At the same time I bought Simple and Simply Delicious by Sylvie Rocher, which is also wonderful Bon Appetit !
Pie crust a bust...: I am a big fan of the Barefoot Contessa's recipes, they are usually fail safe... unfortunately the Lemon Meringue Pie crust turned out horribly. I followed the recipe to the letter and the crust was too hard but the filling was delicious!
Fabulous book: This is a fabulous book. It has great pictures of the recipes (a must for me), and simple recipes that are both elegant and delicious. A refreshing change compared to many French cookbooks on the market.
