The Wedding Planners Daughter:
The Wedding Planners Daughter Something old, something new, something borrowed something blue, and a lucky sixpence in her shoe. This is a poem I got from this book. In every chapter of the book, there is a beautiful poem at the beginning. I would recommend this book for ages 6-14 because it has a lot of people's opinions, feelings, emotions, anger, and happiness for example (Anger) "Nana!" I shout, bursting in to Clancy's Candy. "I need your help." Willa takes you on an adventure through hard and rough times, and through happy and sad times. The writing in the book is medium size so younger children can read the book. This story is about two people, a mother and a daughter, trying to cope without having a father (husband). It is difficult at first but Willa's mom falls in love again. For example and besides, Mother, you like him. I think Coleen Murtagh Paratore, the author, used a lot of her feelings, and wanted the characters to express their opinions, feelings and emotions. Willa feels like she is different because she always thinks of herself as weird or not pretty. This book teaches people to accept themselves for who they are. Willa has short brown shiny hair, big blue eyes, and plump red lips. She is also thin and tall. She tries to fit in at her new school, plus she has a love story to tell. My opinion of this book is it is saying to us, like your self the way you are and don't be sad for the rest of you life. Willa's mom wanted to move but Willa tried to stop her mom again, but she couldn't so they left. After they moved Willa missed her friends, Sam, her grandma and Mr. Tweed. She wanted to go back to Cape Cod, so she did what any child would do. She went on a bus to Cape Cod by herself and walked to Sam's house. No one was there so she walked around to the labyrinth, in and out the bushes but the flowers weren't as pretty as they were when she lived there. It seemed that Cape Cod started to fall apart when she moved. It was like no one could live without my mom." Sam was crushed he couldn't plant or water his flowers; he wasn't ALIVE. DO you think Sam and every one else will cope with out having Willa and her mom there? Willa's mom is very shy she doesn't like to share things about her life. She doesn't feel like she can trust any one to talk to, because she would always talk to her husband but he is dead. Willa's mom has this red heart shaped box with all the letters and notes that Willa's dad (husband) gave to her when he was alive. It is hard for Willa's mom to share things. I think that I would be like Willa's mom, because I don't like sharing things about my life. I think people won't like me because of what I say. My opinion of the ending of the book is that I thought it was very suspenseful because the author finished the book but there3 are still things you are wondering about. It really had me thinking. In the ENDING "Mum always says the only prayer you ever need is just two words."

The Best Book Ever:
The Wedding Planner's Daughter was a very inspiring story. It combined hope with love and compassion. Everyone should have a chance to read this amazing book because everyone will love it! Reading this book has brought me to see how similar I am to Willa. I love reading a good, poetic classic, I now am obsessed with cherry cordials, and when I grow up I want to live in Cape Cod! This is such a great story I never get tired of reading it. Every time I read one specific part, I always cry. The emotional moment is not because it is sad but because I am so happy for all the characters. The descriptions in the book are so incredible. I can picture them and want to be there, too. Coleen Murtagh Paratore creates incredible scenes in my mind of the ocean, beach, labyrinth and widows walk. I have read it twice, and know I will read The Wedding Planners Daughter again and again!

Courtesy of Teens Read Too:
Willa Havisham may be the only twelve-year-old who reads classics, eats cherry cordials, and just so happens to be the worst wisher in the world. Her glamorous single mother, Stella, plans the most beautiful weddings and is constantly moving the two of them around. When they finally move back to Stella's childhood hometown of Bramble, Cape Cod, Willa begins to think her wishes are coming true. She's made her first-ever best friend, is bonding with her crazy Nana, and, best of all, Stella seems to be falling for Willa's English teacher -- who just happens to be perfect dad material. But when, after a wedding disaster, Stella is ready to pack up and throw everyone out, how can Willa stop everything from going back to the way it was? THE WEDDING PLANNER'S DAUGHTER was a book I'd been hearing about for awhile, so when the chance came up to review it, I was excited. It ended up being one of the most hilarious books I've read in quite some time. The characters, Willa especially, were so well-developed and real. I could understand Stella's hesitation but also Willa's determination. Everything in the book was well-thought out and easy to relate to. I'll definitely be recommending this to my librarian and friends. Now I can't wait to read the sequel! Reviewed by: Harmony
