From Amazon.co.uk: On Your Potty! is an board book for toddlers by Virginia Miller, illustrator of Get Into Bed!. Miller's illustrations in On Your Potty! are tremendously cute and engaging through her use of bold, free-style pencil strokes set against a background of cartoon-like simplicity and characters who have well-observed and expressive faces and posture. The equally simple text is written in a way perfect for reading aloud, with lots of opportunity for characterisation on the part of the reader, and suspenseful pauses--just how will the forgetful Bartholomew make it to his potty in time? "He ran ... and he ran ... as fast as he could ... and reached his potty ... just ... in ... time". This is accompanied by a hilarious view of the little bear with a palpable expression of relief on his face, complete with a speech-bubble "aaahh", which will have both the reader and listener in fits of giggles. The little bear, Bartholomew, is just the kind of cute character beloved of toddlers and, combined with the wit with which the story is told, it is a book very much recommended for that tricky time when the little ones are trying to figure out just what that potty thing is for--and it will help them realise that it's not such a scary thing after all. But, above all, it is really is just a lot of fun to read. --Alison Jardine
funny potty trip: Not a great potty training book. But a very fun book about potty training. We love all the books by this author!
Warmhearted Introduction to the Potty: In the highly populated potty book market, this book captures but one aspect: trying to get to the potty in time. Author illustrator Virginia Miller offers spare text in large easy-to-read print and drawings in pencil and colored marker featuring a lovable bear named Bartholomew (ï¿1/2Baï¿1/2 for short). When his papa George asks, ï¿1/2Do you need your potty, Ba?ï¿1/2 his son responds ï¿1/2Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, NAH!ï¿1/2 My girls thought this hysterical and began repeating it (almost to the point of tedium). Read this book for entertainment only. To introduce the functional aspects of the toilet training process, such as what actually goes in the potty, wiping, flushing, and washing up, try these more instructional potty books: The Potty Book for Girls by Alyssa Satin Capucilli, You Can Go to the Potty by Dr. Sears or What To Expect When You Use the Potty by Heidi Murkoff.
On your potty: I didn't like this book it really didn't have any useful information in it but to my 2.5 year old, it was funny!
Cute potty training book!: Ba is typical little kid getting potty trained. Doesn't think he needs potty until almost too late and afterwards both Ba and George are proud. Funny pictures!
