Interesting but disappointing.: I love to clean my home using natural agents such as vinegar and essential oils, so when I saw Dierdre Imus on TV promoting her new book, I was very interested. I assumed that the book would contain a wealth of recipes and instructions for natural cleaning. I was disappointed to find that it does not. There is a lot of interesting information on the common toxic chemical cleaners today and the ill effects that such cleaners have on our health and the well-being of our children, but the helpful information pretty much ends there. In section 2 of the book, each chapter deals with a part of the home - bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, etc. There are some helpful little tips and tricks here and there, but I was disappointed to find that most times all that was suggested was to clean with a 'non-toxic' cleaner, without providing any recipe to make one at home or any brand name non-toxic product to purchase as an alternative. I really do not believe this book was worth the money I paid for it. You may enjoy it if you are looking to be more educated regarding the 'bigger issues' of cleaning using toxic agents and how dangerous these can be. However, if you are looking for recipes on how to make effective homemade natural cleaners, I strongly recommend the book 'Clean Home, Clean Planet' by Karen Logan.
