HILARIOUS: This is a very funny look at all the bizarre things people do to try and stay young. The first half of the book is from the female point of view, the second half from the guy's point of view. There are some strikingly funny lines. The Canadian health care system is praised while the U.S. health care system, "is looked down upon by people in countries where they ride to work on goats." U.S. emergency rooms are "places where hundreds of sick, angry, vomiting, shaking, sobbing people gather for hours to fill out huge amounts of paperwork." Dickson makes fun of the things the government considers "exercise" which includes gardening. He lists other things the government probably considers exercise including "licking cookie dough off your fingers, counting your eye floaters, and golf..." He also points out the different way men and women look at themselves, with women being very vain and guys thinking they're always attractive. He says even guys who are so fat paramedics have to cut out a wall of their house to get them to the doctor think they're appealing to the opposite sex. The authors discuss those annoying "TV doctors", send up exercise instructors, and the vitamin industry comes in for some heavy, and very funny, criticism. My only real complaint is that a few chapters seemed gratuitous. Parts of the book were funnier than others. But most of the stuff here was highly humorous.
