Three Rivers: The Yukon's Great Boreal Wilderness: If you love the Yukon, the idea of the Yukon, or the wild beauty of the Yukon as you imagine or remember it in your mind's eye, this is a beautiful book. Whether you just want to pour over the photos of wildlife and wild landscapes of the Yukon's vast, unscarred northeastern corner and imagine yourself there, or read about the value of the north to the North American psyche and the world's well-being, the north's magic and mystery, and about the journeys by authors, artists and Yukon first nations folks, you will enjoy this book over and over, and probably end up visiting this beautiful place. The book features wonderful writing by known writers like Margaret Atwood, John Ralston Saul, Brian Brett and Alaskan writer Richard Nelson, and lesser known names. It also features photos of the art inspired by the land and produced by the artists who went down the three rivers. This book packs a lot into a little bit of money. It really is the Yukon sandwiched between two hard covers. I have noticed that this book received excellent reviews in the Globe and Mail and Vancouver Sun, and made #1 on the Ottawa Citizen's Must-Buy List in "Wanderlust, Books that will Take You There."
