A great organizer!: It seems that some of the 1-star reviews here are meant for the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting," not this organizer. This organizer is meant to be entirely filled in by you; it does not contain pregnancy advice. I am using the organizer now and it actually has sections to record all the little pregnancy details, many of which I wouldn't have thought of, but am pleased that I will have. There are spaces for such things as: questions for the next doctor visit, results of medical tests, sources of borrowed maternity clothing, name ideas, insurance information, shower gifts (and thank yous sent), first dates of new symptoms/events, and a detailed birth plan. There are many more sections, but that should give you an idea of how thorough it is. The book itself has a sturdy cover, wire binding, and is small enough to fit in most purses. I keep everything I need in it and never have to worry about loosing things. Also, by the time my baby is born, I will have a complete record of my pregnancy. My only complaint, is that the weekly diary section is a little small; there is a space to record thoughts each week, but it isn't enough room for me! I'm a diary type, though, and write a lot.
Must HAVE! For any Pregnancy!: I was very impressed when I received this item. I bought it online with out having a full idea of what it really was, but it sounded like it would be beneficial, plus with the book it is based from is a highly rated & recommended book.. I am extremely impressed. This book is worth twice the price! Starts off with an organized area to record all your medical info that you WILL need through this 9 month adventure! Has some entry areas for personal thoughts on what you felt when you discovered, etc.. very sweet. Records for your visits, between visit calls etc.. excellent and organized! financial record for medical services. Each section is divided by a cardstock page seperating sections: Prenatal care, pregnancy journal, getting ready for baby, getting ready for childbirth, and baby's arrival! This is a sensational book! ENJOY! the cover is laminated paper, and a spiral binding.. lightweight and small and convenient to take everywhere! I LOVE IT!!
A bit disappointed: I was looking for this kind of journal. I guess I got exactly what I wanted but I am still a little disappointed. I just feel that this book is a little unorganized. It doesn't have any way of quickly accessing the pages you might need in a hurry. It would be much better if each chapter had tabs on it or something. I am actually going to add tabs of my own to it. It doesn't have a calendar in it either. It does have lots of space to record just about everything! I am defiently going to use it throughout my pregnancy but I just need to improve it a bit. It is small so it will fit into your purse easily but if your like me my purse already feels like its loaded with bricks so even this will be a burden to me. If it had a calendar in it I could dump my old one and replace it with this but like I said it doesn't. I guess its worth the money to have a place to record everything but this isn't a date book or an organizer. Just so your aware.
One for Each Pregnancy!: I have used this pregnancy organizer for my first two children and will use it again with my upcoming 3rd. This journal to me has soo much more to it than other journals I've seen around. They have actually become a keepsake for the children later!
Bad Advice: I work in the health care profession and am very concerned with mothers doing all the right things to be sure that their baby is born healthy (all things in their control). So, I doubt the legitamcy of a book that tells mothers-to-be that it is OK to have a drink of alcohol if the mom feels like it during her pregnancy!!! I am apalled that someone would give out such horrible and possibly detrimental advice!!!!!! There is countless research that states alcohol consumption during pregnancy increases the risks of fetal alcohol syndrome, fetal alcohol effects, and other birth/developmental abnormalities! It has been shown that 4 in 1000 births have FAS! Why mess with something that you have control with. I would NEVER recommend this book to anyone for fear they may take this advice WAY too liberally and seriously hurt their baby! Terrible advice, just Terrible.
