[.ca] Coven Craft: Witchcraft for Three or More (ISBN 1567180183)

From Amazon.com:
Covencraft is the most complete book on creating and maintaining a coven written to date, with solid advice on networking, group dynamics, the possibilities of incorporation, community service, open rituals, and so much more. The sheer amount of information in one book is staggering, but the truly amazing part is that all this information is indispensable. One would be hard-pressed to find something that Amber K has missed, but if there is something lacking, she has included enough contact information and reference material to answer any questions that may arise. If you are thinking of starting a coven, Covencraft will smooth the way and point out potential troubles before they can wreck your projects. If your coven is already established, you will wonder how you ever got along without Covencraft. --Brian Patterson

comprehensive guide to running a healthy coven:
This book is an unbeatable resource for Wiccan covens and similarly structured groups. There is some basic background on Paganism, then chapter after chapter about every conceivable aspect of finding, creating, or sustaining a healthy coven: finding people, deciding on coven activities and scheduling them, coven leadership structures, different systems of initiation, coven offices, group dynamics, activities, community relations, legal and financial matters, counseling, and more. There are multiple options for just about everything, so you can use this book regardless of the kind of coven you would prefer to develop and work with. There are sample rituals, advertisements, flyers, articles of incorporation, and liturgy. The author has decades of experience in forming and maintaining healthy covens that last more than the 2-3 years that is the national average these days. The whole thing is written in a down-to-earth style peppered with humor and fun. It really demystifies the coven and gets down to business about how good ones actually work. Whether you are seeking to establish a new coven or energize/stabilize an existing one, you'll be coming back to this book frequently for its thorough and varied treatments of virtually everything you need to give thought to. This is one you'll use.

The Greatest Book a Coven can Have!:
This book is the best thing I have ever bought! I've had this book for years, and never realized the true value of it until recently. I started reading it on an offchance it might help me through a few of the problems my coven and I are facing. BOY HOWDY! All of our issues combined and more are talked about, and solutions are presented in a positive and empowering fashion. What a FIND! This book teaches teachers how to teach more effectively, and witches in covens how to be better coveners. All without any pushiness, and completely realistic and clear. No vague or amorphous information. Any coven out there has GOT to have this book! It's totally DYNAMITE!

Outstanding for HP/S, Grove leaders, etc.:
Written specifically for starting witchcraft covens, it's insight can also apply to starting just about any organized group of folks sharing a spiritual path. It takes you through just about everything the leader of these groups would need to think about before, during and after forming up. It spends a good deal of time on how to identify the right people for your group, how to deal with mundane issues like using someone's home as a temple or how to get a separate temple area and ideas for dealing with the inevitable financial issues associated with any group. It even gets into fun activities that the group could get together and participate in. It's a must-read for anyone planning on starting his or her own church / coven / grove.

Amber K has done it again!:
This Priestess and author has outdone herself....AGAIN! Covencraft is an invaluable tool for anyone interested in starting a coven (or worship space). Full of complete and comprehensive instruction (with examples) to getting your 501(c)3 status. This book is a staple in any Pagan's library. Highly recommended without reservation!

A useful guide:
If you are thinking about starting a coven, a group, or a study group this book will help you avoid some common pitfalls. In Most cases it is unrealistic to use all of the positions listed in this book it will help you to understand the nature of organized groups with positions. This will also help you to make decisions on which ones you need or will use, and which ones you will not. For an individual who wants to join a group, it will help you to appreicate all the work that a well organized group takes. It will also help you view the potential group you are thinking of joining objectively. Not so much as in are they doing it right but more along the lines of will you fit in and be happy being a part of this group. Do they have goals and will you be happy to share a part in those goals. and are they organized enough to deal with group dynamic problems. As well as other things. For the Solitary it provides greater understanding of groups that you may visit in the furtur as well as provide a spark of creative ideas for your own practice in the ritual that are listed here in. Again I must reiterate, that not everything in this book is going to be something you would or can use in your own group. Look at it this way, here is a book that gives you a detailed list of all the things you could do. If you have a large group that is not afraid to devote themselves to a posistion and stick to it you could probably successfully fill every position listed in the book, but it's unlikely. So use what you can of the positions listed. The rest is very useful in group dynamics, rituals and the like. Very informative no matter you status group or not. Probably not the only resource you will use but a very good one if you can't afford to buy many books on the subject.
