A poignant, beautifully written coming of age story: Wishing on Dandelions is a beautifully-written coming of age story with a poignant, emotionally-packed ending. DeMuth tackles tough subjects such as racial relations, interracial love, and recovery from childhood sexual abuse with deep insight and sensitivity. The writing sparkles with wisdom and humor, the characters ring true and the mystery of God's love for us in a fallen world is handled with beauty. DeMuth never falls to cliches or pat answers. Though the second novel in a series about Maranatha, Wishing on Dandelions stands alone. Both books are lovely and capture Maranatha's voice beautifully, though accurately entering into the character's life at different ages of development. I highly recommend both novels.
