Don't waste your time and money!: I bought this book based on the customer reveiws, and now I feel like a fool because they were obviously written by the authors themselves! They all read like an infomercial! I am working on my Masters Degree in Exersise Phisiology and I am always looking for books on the subject to add to my library. This book went in the trash. Athletes or people who train more than 3 times per week should NEVER be on a high protien, low carb diet. And for heavens sake we need more than 1200 calories! I believe this book will lead people to be misinformed. There are some good tips on weight training, but you can get the same information from many other books (I would recommend those that are written for women, by women) and magazines that don't need the authors to write 5-star reveiws for themselves. How pitiful.
I just don't know...: I bought this book and have followed the break-in routine for 6 weeks, along with the recommended diet plan. I am inexperienced in the world of body sculpting, therefore I needed a book that would teach me the right way to eat and train for fat loss. I found the workouts effective and I have been feeling strong and have lost weight, but the nutrition plan is questionable. I found I was quite moody when I was following the nutrition plan, with a decreased ability to concentrate. I did not feel like my positive, upbeat self and this bothered me. Now, I have stopped the nutrition plan (but sticking with the workout plan for now) and I feel like myself again. I am going to research to find out how other fit people have decreased their body fat percentages. I have tried to find reviews quoting long standing results with this program and have not had any luck.
The absolute BEST!!!!: I am a fitness instructor of several years, and despite countless attempts of advice from my own supervisors I found the BSB. I started with the Body Sculpting Workout #2 and was able to see results in the first 6 weeks. I have continued the program several times over and have graduated on to the Body Definition Workout, also in the BSB. When I started I was 130lbs. and had 24% body fat. I now weigh 105lbs. and have 11% body fat and I have maintained that very easily just by doing what I have learned in the book. Not only have I expirienced great success with it, it has been a useful research tool for my job. Anyone that says this program doesn't work obviously didn't follow it very well. It takes great determination and hard work to succeed in the gym-the BSB just makes that time a little more efficient for those of us that don't have all day to work out. The bottom line is this- if you are serious about wanting results and have the drive and motivation to get in there and do it, then the program works. I guarantee it. I've seen major results in myself and friends. Trust me, the program works because I do it and I know. This is the best workout program for the beginner or advanced fitness buff! Go for it! You won't be dissappointed!
Great for people new to fitness or old gym rats: After sporadically working out for the last few years, I bought this book to change up my workouts, and it is amazing. I've done about eleven weeks of just mostly the weight training workouts and hit or miss cardio, have not been really doing and visualtion or following a nutrition plan (thats why I work our so I can eat what I want) and I have lost just over twenty pounds now, plus have great arm definition. I find the workout are all easily done within an hour so I can get in and out of the gym fast. The descriptions of each exercise are great even though I'm familiar with them I like to read them over before hand, and although the book does lack traditional index the pg numbers for particular exercises are referenced in each workout, so I feel it was easily nagavitable. I'm pumped up to try another ten weeks, maybe with the nutrition plan and see what it will do.
Such a great book...: I never write reviews...but I decided to write one for this book. This is an excellent book that teaches you how to achieve maximum results through a very effective program. Sculpting your body takes a great deal of effort and discipline, and the authors do an excellent job at teaching you get the most out of your time. The book is easy to read and very accurate in every section: nutrition, schedule, and routine. They teach you how to fluctuate your nutrition and workout so that you can constantly challenge your body and continue to stay fit with no worries of hitting plateaus; the science. I am a very active marathon runner, and have tried tons of different programs. But this book is comprehensive and tops them all. I have never been so toned, and am in the best shape of my life. Don't listen to some of the others; they're probably just not pushing themselves like they should be.
