Waste of paper: I bought this book in preparation for a trip to Mexico. When the book showed up, I was very disappointed - it's basically the same recipe over and over again using different tequilas. Buy a book about Tequilas and experiment with the Tequilas that appeal to you using this formula; 1.25oz Tequila, 1oz citrus liquer of your choice and 1.5oz fresh squeezed lemo or lime juice. Repeat 75 times substituting various Terquilas and liquers and you will have replicated this book. Happy Margaritaville!
True Aficionados Handbook on Margaritas: Having tried many "authentic" margaritas, Maria's is truly the pinnacle. Don't buy this book if you are trying to duplicate a Chile's "premium" frozen margarita. If you go to Maria's and ask for a frozen margarita, they just might throw you out of the place. True the three ingredients are almost always 100% agave tequila, triple-sec (Bols, Cointreau, & Grand Marnier), and lemon juice (for its year-round consistency) or lime juice, but they have matched different tequilas to go with different triple-secs. Throw away all your preconceptions of what a margarita should tastle like, and really try one of these great recipes. Better yet hit Marias's in Santa Fe for a couple of their super premium margaritas. Enjoy!
The Great Margarita Book: You wouldn't think a Margarita book could be SO interesting! Lots of useful tips, history, info and trivia. I am buying more copies for family. Package it with a bottle of tequila for a great gift.
A One Recipe Book: If all you want is one recipe for a margarita this is the book for you. It takes the same formula over and over (tequila, triple sec and lime juice) then varies the type of tequila and triple sec. What a waste of good paper. But it is printed well, great layout, nice photos and illustrations.
75 Recipes for the same margarita: I bought this book in preparation for a party. When the book showed up, I was severly disappointed - it's basically the same recipe over and over again using different tequilas. The book does briefly talk about a lot of different tequilas and has a few (and I do mean few) recipes for other margaritas (fruit etc). But instead of buying this book, try \oweb address\c you'll find a much better variety and save yourself the money.
