[.ca] Eating Disorders: Journey to Recovery Workbook (ISBN 1583910581)

This book was so helpful:
This book was so helpful in helping me better understand eating disorders and how they act as coping mechanisms. I used to think it was just about the wish to look better and lose weight. I now really understand how psychological it is, and this book was so insightful in helping me put together the skills and tools I need to recover from my eating disorder. I would, without hesitation, recommend this book to anyone struggling with an eating disorder.

Not Impressed:
The worksheets and exercises were just old material rewritten. I was surprised to see many things that I already did in my therapy, like the letter to food.

It helped me so much:
I have anorexia for a year and it is so hard. I feel like nobody understands and my friends think I am weird and don't want to be friends anymore but when I read this book I felt like finally someone understands and I don't have to live like this anymore. I am not all better yet but I am working hard and this book helps a lot. I wish my friends would read it and that teachers could understand that I don't do this on purpose. The chapter for parents helped my mom alot. I hope anybody that has an eating disorder can read ths book and get help. And I hope that someone writes a book for friends.

Disagree with the others:
This book is a much needed book. It has a unique flair and is incredibly invaluable for anyone in recovery. I have been using it with my therapist and have found it to be helping my recovery above and beyond what I would be doing in just my sessions alone. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a task oriented approach to therapy.

A lot of the same material, done again:
I think the concept of the book is a great one, but it would be helpful to talk more about recovery from a personal perspective. The book has a lot of material that I have read before, it is just rewritten a different way. I also think it is too pricey.
