Good, but........: Whoever proof-read this thing ought to look for a new line of work. There are a lot of spelling, grammar and syntax errors as well as factual errors. Peter McNeeley's name is not spelled McNeely, Holmes fought Holyfield in 1992, not 1990 etc. Also, why no pictures? You would think that after going through all this trouble of tracking down these fighters, some forgotten, some legendary, and interviewing them, and compiling and publishing a book, the author would have included a half dozen or so pages of photos, from then and now. After all, it is a kind of "Where are they now?" story. As well, having pictures in the book is often the dealbreaker for a casual shopper. Somebody would say, "A new Tyson book, Cool" and flip through it in the store. If they weren't a hardcore boxing fan, and there are no pictures, they tend to put the book right back down again. But anyway, the book itself is quite good. Kluck writes in a down to earth, easy to read style, and doesn't resort to the silly metaphors and pretentious language so often found in sports journalism. The fighter's stories are compelling and well told. The bottom line is, I read it quickly, wasn't bored ever and wished it were a whole lot longer. So that's the sign of a good book. Definitely worth buying.
