[.ca] Chainfire (Mp3-Cd) (ISBN 1593356862)

Not too bad:
While the beginning of this series was awesome, it's begun petering out lately. Some of the plot lacks logicality to it, I'll not spoil it for you here, but you'll see what I mean when you read it. Overall, not a bad book, but there're many better out there. If you've read and liked the series thus far, you'll like this book too. **A book I would also recommend is The Unsuspecting Mage by Brian S. Pratt. This, the first installment of The Morcyth Saga is a great beginning for a new author. Battles, magic, gods, secret passages and intrigue, all the elements of a classic epic fantasy! Any fantasy reader will enjoy it. Also it didn't take 4-6 weeks to come as I had been worried about. Only about fifteen days. Still a wait but worth it!

Worst book of the serie yet.:
Like all the readers of Terry Goodkind, i loved the 2 first novel of the sword of truth. But enough is enough. Just a book about a madness caused by Kalhan missing. We do not advance in the story one bit. Although we see Richard in a new way, I actually want to see the end of this serie before im 40 (now im 24). He must compare this serie to the whell of time of Robert Jordan, and must say that M.Goodkind doesnt have the same writting ability on the ever going story. If there are no more then 2 books, i suggest you read it, but it wont make a big difference if you dont. By far the worst book Terry Goodkind made in this serie.

Not horrible:
The idea behind this continuation of Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series was interesting, but the more I read the more I too began to forget who Kahlan was. And by the end I didn't really care, somehow I don't think that was Goodkind's intent. I'm sure he wanted to showcase just how important Richard Rahl's wife was to the whole story, but really I felt in the end that she was very insignificant, and their love story was tiresome. In fact I thought that he had "killed her off" or something, and I wasn't sad. But anyway I don't want to ruin anything, I'll just end saying that the narration was fascinating and the book was a definite page-turner but the character developement was boring and same old same old.

Chainfire:
very exciting from the beginning to the end. poor richard, he has to go thru all the frustrations of people closest to him believing he has gone mad. i'm so happy that she can count on him to save her. i can't wait to read the next book. this story should get more credit and publicity than the harry potter series. it is well written with lot of real life human emotions. very original indeed.

A big improvement:
After suffering through books 6 to 8, which were massive dissapointments in the writing the made me find books 1 to 4 just absolutely breathtaking... This book was a marked improvement. Not much action and bit too much talking. There was a fair amount of rehashing of previous plotlines as well. I was happy though, to see the more epic feel teh book come back to life. I would give this book 3.5/5, but that's not available.
