A good chuckle...: I read this book because her idea of trying out every recipe from Mastering the Art of French Cooking was one I have toyed with, but knew I could never do the livers or brains. So I commend her highly for her determination and perseverance. She really makes me want to get out my Julia Child book and get cooking. The book is written in an enjoyabe-to-read light tone, although sometimes I did get a little confused by her back-tracking. It is extremely evident that she really disliked her job, and those parts of the book really could have been left out. Same with the swearing, but a lot of people don't even notice it. That said I wish her much success as an author and will re-think my dropped attempt at trying all the recipes. But not in a year and definitely no brains!
