Good Insight: I like the fact that the authors explain how things work in our bodies (how protein intake relates to the increased metabolism resulting from the workout, and to the muscle growth; which foods are good for metabolism; which of them aid in weight loss or lowering cholesterol levels). Although the idea of having six meals a day does not always fit my busy schedule, the one of snacking with fruits and/or nuts between main meals does seem to be effective in my case. What I like most about the book is the well balance diet that does not exclude any food groups. I am a great believer in the nourishment based on natural foods and The Abs Diet fully supports this belief. The author of the book "Can We Live 150 Year" farther explains proper food combination and its effect on our bodies. For that reason his book is a very good addition to The Abs Diet.
It worked for me...: I am sure other reviewers have said this, but it is worth repeating, this book is not so much a diet, as it is an instruction manual on wholesome eating and exercise. This book will probably tell you everything you already knew, but were to lazy to choose to believe. This book follows the same principals nutrition experts and doctors have been saying for years. And furthermore, this book will teach you additional information that you should know! If you are looking for a miracle diet that will make you look great, and let eat whatever you want whenever you want with little or no exercise then this book is NOT for you! The fact is, to make this book work for you, you will have to swear off junk food (with the exception of one meal a week) and exercise a bit each day. But I am here to tell you that the short term pain is more than worth the long term gain. By following the books simple guidelines for eating and exercise I achieved tremendous results (believe me, that is saying something), and I would be willing to bet it will work for you, if you are truly committed to living a healthier life. Being thin will tastes better than any food you have ever come across.
Amazing source: I was using the abs diet long before I bought this book and found it helpful. I was never really overweight just wanted to get in good shape. With the book now it is even easier to eat the "Power 12 foods" because they are thing's that most of us already eat. It's a great source and a quick read would recommend it to anybody who is serious about getting in shape, staying in shape and just feeling good about what you eat.
ABSolutely worth a look.: This book reminds me a lot of "Body For Life." It has a very workable plan to lose weight and the diet and exercise strategies are clearly laid out and explained in sufficient detail. Readers will find plenty of pictures too of the exercises that they are instructed to do. Motivational in nature, it's laid back writing style should appeal to many. Readers who like this book might also be interested in "The Sixty-Second Motivator" to help keep up their motivation to diet. Good luck!
A GREAT CHANGE TO MY LIFE IN THE FIRST WEEK!: Within the first few pages of reading this book I knew I was onto something really unique. I've tried a lot of other plans, but couldn't follow them for more than a few weeks, and then whatever weight I lost would come right back. This entertaining and informative read, though, lays out everything you need to know about making the smallest changes to the way you eat, exercise and live for maximum results. I've lost a couple of pounds of fat from my stomach already, I'm in a much better mood, I'm sleeping really well, and I have a TON of energy! (And other people are commenting on the 'new' me.) I feel like I'll be able to stick to this plan for a very long time, thanks to how sensible and no-nonsense it is. I'm excited. (Can you tell?!) Give this book a try. You'll see within one day what I'm talking about! Author of The Truth About Caffeine
