funny: this is a great book to read out loud! very funny, it's kind of a subdued humour. is great for kids because they've all tried to get something out of someone at one point or another that they're not allowed allowed to do, so they know the dynamic, but they are able to see how silly it would be to let the pigeon drive the bus. the book is written so that the pigeon is talking directly to the reader, like the reader is the one with the authority to allow the pigeon to ride the bus. comical, i recommend.
This is hilarious!: A classic work of literature it isn't, but this is one of the funniest kids' books I have ever seen. I can barely read it aloud without totally losing it! The pictures are hysterical and you really feel for this poor pigeon! :)
Loved by one and all: I bought this a couple years ago based on an Amazon review. And it was a good choice -- my daughter and son like hearing this book, and my wife and I enjoy reading it. The kids seem to like hearing their own pleas from the pidgeon, and the wife and I feel like we're telling them "We're onto your tricks." So, after a couple of year, I'm still happy when my son selects this from his shelf for me to read to him.
Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus: This is the second "Pigeon" book that I have got for my Niece (5 years old) and Nephew (2 years old). The first being 1 year ago (which my niece can now almost read to me in it's entirity). I loved reading "Don't let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" aloud to them. It kept them both occupied and interested for the duration and they choose this one to be read on several consectutive days. Within several readings my niece can almost read the pages herself and loves to respond to the pigeons tantrums. The illustrations reflect the pigeons moods accurately and can be identified by both children. I look forward to sharing additional episodes with them and have also purchased several for friends' children and they have all been well received.
Best Read-Aloud Book for any age!: This is the best read-aloud book for any age! A pigeon wants to drive the bus soooo badly that he will do anything to get the keys from you:-) Who can't relate to wanting something badly and not being allowed to have it just yet ? You can role-play while reading and have the best time with your child! And don't be shy, use your voice, face and body freely to bring the pigeon to life and you will be amazed at how much fun you had!
