Coffee Table Only: I would love to visit all of the ski areas mentioned in this book, but the book does not describe or illustrate any of them well. Each resort has been given approximately 4 pages of space in the book. There are a few pictures of slopes or base areas, but not enough to give the reader any feel for what the resorts really looks like. In addition, the information the author conveys about each area is quite minimal. There is a map of where in the world each of the resorts is located, and a small box containing directions to the particular resort, mountain height, number of lifts and difficulty level of runs. However, there are no trail maps. The author's incredibly brief references to a few of his favorite runs may be helpful if one writes down their names and finds them upon arriving at the resorts, yet there is not enough description of the terrain to truly inform the reader of what these ski areas are like. Furthermore, no information is given about where to stay or eat once one has arrived at the resorts. While this book looks attractive sitting on a coffee table, its use should be limited to just that.
